After Aran, Joshua Sridhar is back with Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthen. Predominantly a melodious album, Joshua has opted for soft instrumentation and has come up with five catchy tracks.
The young music composer who proved his mettle in his maiden film Kadhal, has sung a couple of songs himself.
Also the likes of Sukhwinder Singh, Sadhana Sargam, Haricharan and Saindhavi have rendered their voices in the album.
A couple of songs in the album reminds one of Kadhal. However, on the whole, the album should go down well with those music-buffs who love soft melodies.
Aandippatti Parttinnu (Sukhwinder Singh, Haricharan, Saindhavi, Prem Gi Amaran)
A typical Bhangra. No other voice other than Sukhwinder Singh would be better suited for this song. Reminding one of Daler Mehndi's popular audio chartbusters, the song oozes with energy and is very vibrant. Joshua has struck to the typical Punjabi Bhangra without trying any fusion stuff.
Naana Yar Ethu (Haricharan, Sadhana Sargam)
Back in the Kadhal groove is Joshua. The song inspired by a Hindustani raga is a perfect one for the melody-lovers. Sadhana Sargam's voice is as sweet as candy. Mild beats and catchy chorus with soft use of tabla gives the song a pep. Haricharan adds his might for the song.
India Ethu (Joshua Sridhar)
A patriotic song in the album. The master himself lends voice for this Westernised number which speaks in length about the rich and varied culture of the nation. It is more like a song heard in music channels of the west and Joshua's use of electric guitar, racy beats at the right mix deserve special mention.
Enkivalai (Gowtham, Harini Sudhagar, Joshua Sridhar)
It's a straight six from Joshua's bat. The lilting song which is more a lullaby is a heart-touching melody by Joshua. Joshua Sridhar's rendering in a parallel track is amazing. Going the Ilayaraja way, Joshua's shrewd use of violins to give a mystic feel needs to be mentioned. Certainly a song, which would catch the imagination of the music lovers.
Yar Thantha (Haricharan, Harini Sudhagar)
Joshua has a special liking for soft songs. All his earlier films are classic examples to it. This particular song which details about a estranged lover couple is more like ballad. Joshua has preferred to underplay with his instrumentation and has let the vocals dominate. Haricharan goes great guns. He has given life to the song with his voice.
This album, on the whole, is a treat for melody lovers.
