Actress Nimrat Kaur is making a comeback to Bollywood after staying away from it for nearly 6 years. She'll be seen sharing screen with Abhishek Bachchan in soon to be released comedy flick 'Dasvi', which is her first Bollywood project since 'Airlift'. In 'Dasvi', Nimrat will play a housewife who becomes a Chief Minister overnight after her husband (Abhishek Bachchan) gets imprisoned.
According to a recent report in Mid-Day, Nimrat stated, "The journey from Bimmo to Bimla Devi was unrelatable for me. For the first time, I had to imagine everything from scratch."
She further added, "I had heard the one-line [character sketch] in 2020; I hadn't even heard the script. I knew right then that I had to do it. My interest was independent of whom the role was based on. She is initially oppressed, and then becomes an oppressor. I had to be careful not to judge her. I piled on 15 kilos, and did accent training. I will never forget this film because it is rewarding to play a part where there isn't an ounce of Nimrat."
'Dasvi' is set to release on 7th of April on Netflix and JioCinemas.
