Actress Nimisha Sajayan had attended a chat show hosted by yesteryear actress Annie before lockdown. The video grabbed the attention of the public after troll pages made short clips from the chat show.

During the chat, Annie had asked Nimisha whether she liked makeup or not, to which Nimisha expressed her dislike of using make-up in personal life. Both Nimisha's and Annie's statements were scrutanized by netizens. After the video went viral, several people had criticized Nimisha after digging up photos of her with make-up.

Though the actress remained silent on the allegations, Nimisha Sajayan has now finally responded to it. The actress has clarified that she personally does not like to apply make-up but would use them when it is professionally required.

“During the show, I was asked personally, whether I like makeup or not. And my answer to that was, I am not interested on personal grounds, but I would put on makeup if the movie demands. A few people found my pictures in which I have put on makeup and have enquired me if it was makeup or the natural look. I can tell you that for photo shoots, television shows, and magazine photoshoots, makeup is essential and I would do that. It’s part of the profession. And the disinterest in makeup is part of my personal life. As I am not able to reply to all of them, I am putting up this post,” Nimisha wrote on her Facebook page. She also urged the people to understand the true sense of words and avoid circulating hatred on social media.

Nimisha who was last seen in the 2019 film ‘Standup’, had won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress.
