To fight the rising number of dengue cases in Tamil Nadu, the state has advised the people on consuming ‘Nilavembu kudineer’ or kashayam, which has proved useful in containing the disease. However, there has also been widespread speculation if the herbal medicine could bring on unwanted side effects to the patient.
Kamal tweeted yesterday asking people to not use Nilavembu until proper research is done on it until which he requested people to go on with other aid measures. The tweet garnered critisicms from the political fraternity and also the general public when a complaint was lodged against the actor in the Chennai police commissioner’s office.
Now, the Secreatry of the Tamil Nadu Siddha Doctors Association A.Swaminathan has stated that Kamal has been commenting on subjects recently that he has no expertise over and that he could have approached a Siddha practitioner to clear his doubts.
Kamal’s statements have brought disspointment to the state’s Siddha practioners.
