As reported already, Nikita Tomar, a 21-year-old college student, was on Monday shot dead by one Tauseeq Ahmed in Haryana's Faridabad district. The incident took place outside a college.

In a development, the deceased woman's mother, Vijayawati Tomar, has alleged that her daughter was killed by Tauseeq because she refused to convert to Islam. She suggested that her daughter had been forced to change her religion by Tauseef.

Speaking to The Print, the bereaved mother said that her daughter was very good at studies. She was planning to appear for the IAS exams.

The victim's brother, too, said that there was an angle of love jihad to the murder.

Two years ago, Tauseeq tried to abduct Nikita but failed. Her parents lodged a police complaint, only to withdraw later. It seems Tauseeq's fanaticism and cruelty were emboldened by the large-heartedness of Nikita and her family.
