Nikhil Siddharth’s father Kavali Shyam Siddharth passed away yesterday. An educationalist, he breathed his last earlier today due to an age-related illness.

On Friday, the '18 Pages' actor took to Twitter and posted a heart-tugging letter to his father. "He mentored and taught thousands of students. He guided them in their careers and always did his best to keep the people around him happy," the 'Karthikeya 2' star wrote.

Nikhil revealed that his father was an avid fan of the likes of NTR and ANR. "It was his dream to see me on the silver screen," the 'Kirrak Party' actor wrote, thanking his dad for the constant motivation and unwavering support. "My father was a state topper from JNTU in Electronics Engineering," Nikhil wrote.

Nikhil revealed that his father suffered from a rare medical condition named Corticobasal degeneration, which can cause gradually worsening problems with movement, speech, memory and swallowing. The old man had to battle the disease for 8 years.
