Nikhil Advani: I hated the remake of Big B's Don

Once written off by the industry, Nikhil Advani is back and budding with confidence with Hero up for release.
Personally Nikhil is not in favor of remaking iconic blockbusters and he didn,t like the remake of Big B's Don that starred SRK. According to him such iconic moments should be kept untouched..
Then why he accepted the director's hat for remaking Subash Ghai's 1983musical blockbuster that introduced Jackie Shroff to the industry..
Nikhil says, "Call it my bad luck, good luck, faith or destiny, I picked up the call from Salman Khan and Hero' happened.
On being asked why Hero' Nikhil gives an innocent reply, "I don,t know, Salman wanted to introduce Sooraj and Athiya in the remake of Hero'". 'Hero' is Salman Khan's dream, faith. I am just a link.
Born at the Dharma productions house of bubble gum, sugar coated romancers, Nikhil has come long by exploring various genres that also includes India's first stereoscopic 3D animation film - Delhi Safari, spoofy masala pot boiler Chandini Chowk To China and the career defining raw edgy actioner D-Day that restrained Nikhil's credibility as a director.
Nikhil says that whenever a known classic is remade the audience gets divided into two categories the one who are fans of the original and the ones who have not seen the original. We have tried to give Hero' a modern look that is in sync with today's times while the story line is kept intact.
Ready for comparisons and criticisms from the followers of the original Hero' made by Subash Ghai, Nikhil firmly believes that Hero' will successfully launch Sooraj and Athiya to the industry, their mentor Salman Khan's personal touch has made wonders..
Ghai also suggested to take advice from Salim during scripting.. but Salim advised Nikhil to follow what your heart says and do your best.
All eyes will be on 'Hero'. The introduction of the two star kids to the industry - Sooraj Pancholi ( son of Adiitya Pancholi) and Athiya Shetty daughter of Sunil Shetty has made the trade buzzing right from the announcement and more with the trailer launch.
Nikhil shy's away from predicting a weekend figure and says Hero' was not shot with a fixed budget.. we have went on to fulfill Salman's dreams who is also the co-producer and have received good backing from Eros" he hopes Hero' will not disappoint and so do we cause Hero' never disappoints..
