The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) gave its green signal to the ambitious ‘Regional Ring Road (RRR)’ project to come up in Telangana.
RRR is a much-awaited and much anticipated project which is now all set to become a reality in the State which elected a new Legislative Assembly early last week. While giving its ‘go-ahead’ nod for the project, the NHAI instructed the Govt. of Telangana to first prepare and submit a detailed project report citing the economics and logistics involved in a project of such magnitude.
It also directed the State Govt. to start acquiring lands for the above-stated project. When it becomes a reality, the RRR would stretch to a whopping 362 km around Hyderabad and would be a huge relief for commuters and transporters who want to reach Hyderabad from various other regions.
The proposed 4-lane RRR corridor is likey to cover localities such as Sangareddy, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir, Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Chevella and Shankarpalli.
