Anushka Sharma can continue to smile. Her first ever female centric film with her as the main protagonist has been accepted by the target audience. After a good weekend that saw some constant escalation in footfalls with every passing day, rest of the week went well too for the Navdeep Singh directed affair with not much of a fall. Though there were apprehensions if the 'adults only' with a dark and disturbing theme and quite some violence may see some jitters during the weekdays, this wasn't the case as NH10 ruled from the top in terms of collections.

As a result, around 20.5 crore came in, which brings this moderately budgeted film into the green zone. The film has started making profits and numbers would continue to trickle in as there is no major release for the rest of the month. Though one waits to see how far does the film go from this point on, it would be interesting if NH10 continues to gather pace and target Rani Mukherji's Mardaani which had managed 35 crore for itself. However Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat, a much more frothy 30 crore affair, and Ali Bhatt's Highway (29 crore) could be definite milestones to overcome.

Meanwhile, Dum Laga Ke Haisha continued to bring in audience for itself on a steady note, as a result of which it first had a good weekend and then enjoyed very stable weekdays. With close to 26 crore in its kitty already, the film is now set to hit the 30 crore mark.

As things stand today, it could well be a race between 'NH10' and 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' to hit this mark first. Interesting, as both films are as different from each other as they can get.
