The National Green Tribunal has taken the Karnataka government to task for delay in cleaning up the Bellandur lake and asked the concerned to appear before the board.

The huge quantity of lather from lake oozing out on the streets has lead to difficult situation to the residents especially on the rainy night of last Monday.

Taking note of serious disturbance of environment and life of people in jeopardy justice Swatantrakumar single bench has asked for the urban development chief secretary and lake development officials to appear before on August 22.

The last week rain has created enormous disturbance – this is known from the media reports. How the government take up this case was question posed to government lawyer Ashok Devaraj.

The heavy downpour in Bengaluru has lead to this complication, the silt has been already removed was the reply given by government lawyer. Where the silt was put up did not get the right answer.
