KK Radhamohan is the producer of the Telugu version of 'NGK'. Starring Suriya, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh and others, the film will hit the screens on May 31. In this interview, catch him talk about what makes the film unique, what is to be expected from it, his upcoming movies and more.
'NGK' is in much demand
We are releasing 'NGK' on May 31 in a big way in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film is a pool of the best technicians and actors. It has got a political backdrop. Since the film is coming after elections, it won't have any impact on elections. We are receiving healthy business deals from all territories.
Audiences love idealistic characters
We have seen political films like 'Bharat Ane Nenu'. The audience derives pleasure by watching idealistic films because they know that such things don't happen in the real world. Suriya garu has got a large fan base in the Telugu States. I hope 'NGK' will be accepted the way 'Ghajini' and other hits were.
Suriya garu has played the role of an idealist who fights to reform the system. I haven't watched 'NGK' yet but I know the concept. We have seen many message-oriented films and subjects that touch upon political problems. Recent hits like 'Maharshi' are also a case in point.
'NGK' is cinematic, universal
'NGK' is not a story based on true events. It's a cinematic subject. There are not nativity issues as far as 'NGK' is concerned. It's because it's a political subject. I like Selvaraghavan garu's films and directorial style. 'NGK' also features the likes of Jagapathi Babu. Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh are also very familiar. The songs (by Yuvan Shankar Raja) are getting a good response.
Upcoming projects
I had planned a film with Gopichand garu. But since he met with an accident earlier this year, the project got delayed. I have a project scheduled with Raj Tharun. I am passionate about movies and that's why I have laid my hands on 'NGK' as soon as I got the offer from the Tamil producers.
