Earlier on Wednesday, a national media house reported that a Hindu group attacked a Tanishq store in Gandhidham, Gujarat, over the Tanishq Ekatvam ad controversy. In the ad, which has been withdrawn by the jewelry company, a Hindu daughter-in-law is seen in a baby shower ceremony amid her Muslim family members.
Following the report about the alleged attack, the SP of Kutch in Gujarat has said that there was no attack on the Tanishq store. Two men, he said, approached the store and demanded that an apology be issued. After that, some threats were made by unknown individuals on the phone. Beyond that, there was no offence.
“The store has not been attacked. However, I received some threat calls. The police have supported us,” Rahul Manuja, the store’s manager has been quoted as saying by ANI.
