Following the rare run-out decision against MS Dhoni in the IPL final against Mumbai Indians, people have been having divided opinion on the same, as some of them are convinced that it was a wrong decision as the skipper’s bat was inside the crease by the time the LED on the stumps went off. However, a few other people stand by the umpires’ original decision. One of them is New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham, who initially posted a tweet along with a photograph of the bat on the crease, questioning the judgement of those who did not favour the original decision made by the umpires. After being met with relentless criticism from fans, the cricketer was forced to delete his tweet.
“I love how passionate some fans are about our sport. I have huge respect for MS but how anyone could see the below photo and say it’s not out truly astounds me,” Neesham posted regarding Dhoni’s dismissal, along with a picture that suggested that the batsman was short of his crease. Thousands of comments started pouring in from fans, who trolled the New Zealand cricketer and also posted a variety of other angles, refuting his claim. Neesham deleted the tweet soon after and posted another tweet that read, “I’ve deleted my tweet about MS Dhoni’s runout, not because I’ve changed my mind, but because:
1. I’m sick of seeing the same dumb comments in my feed 200 times a day.
2. I just don’t actually care.
Please don’t bother tweeting me about it again. Have a good day everyone.”
However, fans of the beloved CSK captain are in no mood to rest as they continue to spam Neesham’s new post, affirming that they are right to stand by their decision.
