Ace actor Mohanlal had been in some trouble following elephants tusks being found at his home some years ago. The truth regarding the matter was that it was gifted to him by a friend who was aware of his interest in cultural and antique artifacts. He also had legal permission to keep it is possession.

However, the issues had happened when the license had expired and he forgot to renew it prompting vicious attack on the actor from some quarters, A new law passed some months back under the ambit of Wife Life Department had stated that people who has possession of priceless animal artifacts should make an account of it and submit to the department to get license and lawful permission. The actor has done accordingly and got the licence. However, there have been unwarranted reports that Modi granted him the permission, following Mohanlal's blog against JNU when the truth is that the law was passed way before any of the latter issue.
