The Indrakeeladri Temple in Vijayawada has given specific instructions to pilgrims regarding the dress code they should strictly follow from this New Year day. Those wishing to gain entry into the temple premises have to invariably respect the code which is meant to impose appropriateness.
Starting from today, all devotees have to necessarily wear only traditional attire during their visit to the shrine. The Temple Trust Board has taken a firm decision to abolish shorts, bermudas, mini-skirts, middies, low-waist jeans, and sleeveless tops, among others.
The temple's Executive Officer has told a news agency that women are expected to wear sarees, lehenga, or any other traditional attire.
If any devotee comes to the temple without a proper dress, an "Amma saree" will be provided to her at a cost of Rs.100. Dressing rooms have been put in place for the convenience of the devotees.
