'Eternals', the American epic superhero film, hit the screens today in the US and other countries. Based on the Marvel Comics race of the same name, the Chloe Zhao directorial is produced by Marvel Studios. Early screenings for film critics drew negative reviews and this hasn't gone down well with several Netizens as well as some film observers.
Commenting on the development, columnist Clayton Davis wrote, "Rotten my ass! 'Eternals' is so dope. Unconventional, unpredictable and an evolution of how Marvel films could and should be told. Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry are my forever ride or dies...all perfect!"
A Netizen took on Rotten Tomatoes for writing off 'Eternals'. "Rotten Tomatoes said 'Sharknado' is better than 'Step Brothers'. I will never understand why people use their reviews as a predetermined opinion or feeling towards a movie," he wrote. "I absolutely loved this movie! Beauty, heart and humanity. Thena is my Queen and she must be protected at all costs," commented another social media user.
"I loved 'Eternals' as well. Let's get these types of positive reviews spreading instead of the negative hot takes trying to feed into the trolls (sic)," film critic Paul McGuire Grimes wrote. "Saw two reviews for 'Eternals' - one that said it takes itself too seriously and the other that said the mythology is ridiculous. My god, welcome to comic books. Folks get something that doesn’t keep winking at them and they don’t know how to act. Personally, I can’t wait (sic)," film journalist Richard Newby tweeted.
