Netizens educate Siddharth on farmers laws after dumb tweet

'Bommarillu' actor Siddharth has come out in support of the farmers' protests in Punjab. In a tweet, he said that one farmer protesting is everyone protesting. Had he stopped at this, it would have helped him. But the 'Jigarthanda' actor went on to say that the farmer decides the quantity and price of his harvest. This had several informed Netizens tutoring him on basics.

Here is the tweet of the actor: "Ate a wheat tandoori roti. Grateful. Amazed at the smell & taste of pure wheat. If 1 farmer dies, we all die. If 1 farmer protests, we all protest... Annadhaatha sukhi bhava...god bless and save my saviour. The farmer decides the quantity and price of his harvest."

Replying to the rant, columnist Kartikeya Tanna wrote, "Except that the farmer doesn't determine the price of his harvest under the system that prevailed before farm laws. It is those very farm laws which actually empower the farmer to decide the price of his harvest and enter into a contract." The user asked Sid to support the farm reforms for this reason.

The Kaipullai wrote, "Till now, in a lot of States, the Government used to decide the price and quantity of the harvest. The entire point of the reforms is to ensure the Farmer gets to decide the price for their produce."

Sid must have realized that there is a 'Maha Samudram' of information that he needs to fathom!
