Netflix's 'The Crown' to Feature King Charles and Camilla's Wedding in Its Final Season

Netflix has subtly hinted at a royal wedding story line for the next season of The Crown amid teasing about the final installment. The sixth and last season of the popular historical drama will sensitively show Princess Dianaâs death, with King Charles III marrying Queen Camilla. Posting the news on its official account (X), Netflix used a program for the royal wedding service that was held in St. Georgeâs Chapel in Windsor Castle on April 9, 2005.
In this season, Dominic West plays an adult Charles while Olivia Williams plays Camilla. This storyline follows the late Queen Elizabeth IIâs life and reign, including her initial objection to both Charles and Camillaâs relationship, which was marred by a cheating scandal by Charles and a media scandal.
The season also introduces Edward McVey and Meg Bellamy as young adult versions of Prince William and Princess Kate. It tells the story of their time at the University of St Andrews, where they first meet, setting up the stage for a new romance and future for The Crown.
Despite recent controversies and allegations that it is distorting historical facts, The Crown remains one of Netflixâs most anticipated series. It will likely follow suit with earlier seasons by debuting in November. Though no confirmation has been made on its premiere date for the final season.
After six seasons, seven years and three casts, @TheCrownNetflix comes to an end later this year.
