Who made the poster for 'Cuties' sexualizing children, Netflix? Who approved posting the film’s description celebrating 11-year-old girls twerking? Have those degenerates been fired? Have the police been notified? a social media influencer angrily asked soon after a poster of 'Cuties', originally titled 'Mignonnes' in French, was unveiled by Netflix. Directed by Maïmouna Doucouré, the web series is about a teen girl finding redemption in dance. The poster, released by Netflix to advertise the series, turned out to be inappropriate.
After an online petition was signed by thousands of commoners against the poster, the video streaming platform has withdrawn it. It has also apologized for the same. “We are deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance, Netflix said.
As per critics, the poster blatantly sexualized an 11-year-old girl for the viewing pleasure of pedophiles.
