Story:
Subbu(Ganesh Bellamkonda) is a college student who plans to buy an iPhone. The moment he does, things change for him as he gets scammed in a murder case. If this was not enough, his bank account starts showing crores of rupees thereby creating more issues for him. How will a simple college-going student solves such a big issue is the story of Nenu Student Sir?
Analysis:
The film's story is written by Krishna Chaitanya, the famous lyricist and director. When it comes to direction, Raki Uppalapati has taken the mantle and he sets up the premise in a decent manner. The story idea by Krishna Chaitanya is good but it is the execution that is not up to the mark. Nenu Student Sir could have been a solid thriller if the thriller would have been gripping.
Bellamkonda Ganesh has done a decent job in his role. His character suits him perfectly and Ganesh carries his character with ease. But when it comes to some intense scenes, his performances should have been a lot better. The film starts on a slow note but it picks up well in the second half. The manner in which Samutirakani is brought into the story is also quite nice.
The counter-scam by Subbu & his friends is effective. But by the time it is shown, it is too late. The twists in the narration are weak but those shown in key areas create an impression. The production values of the film are pretty good and showcase the film in a good light. The editing could have been better and the dialogues are neat.
The last forty minutes of the film are decent as the manner in which the bank scam is exposed is shown in a wonderful manner. This itself ends the film on a good note and makes the audience pleased and get out of the theater in an easy manner.
Verdict:
On the whole, Nenu Student Sir has a premise that is noteworthy. But the screenplay should have been more gripping to give the audience more satisfaction. But that does not happen and the film ends as just an average fare at the box office. Watch with low expectations and you will enjoy it.
