'Nene Naa' is headlined by Regina Cassandra, who has played an archaeologist with two different shades. A semi-period thriller, it is about what happens when a foreign trekker gets murdered in a forest by a mysterious force. Parallels between the present and the past (100 years ago) is drawn. Can Regina's character help the investigators, who are in mortal danger of being killed, solve the case?

The period portions seem to be laced with action sequences. Also featuring Akshara Gowda, the film has Vennela Kishore, JP, Thagabothu Ramesh, Jiva Ravi, Michael, Rachapudi Kaushik, Yogi, and Ravi Raja in different roles.
