Did Nelson Dilipkumar miss his Bollywood debut? Here's what we know

Nelson Dilipkumar gained overnight fame by directing Koka Maavu Kokila with Lady Superstar Nayanthara in the lead role. Following the success of the film, he signed to direct Vijay in the film Beast which turned out to be a disaster.

Nw the latest report states that Nelson lost his chance to mark his Bollywood debut. Nelson's film Kola Maavu Kokila was remade in Hindi with Jhanvi Kapoor in the lead role with the title Good Luck Jerry.

However, according to reports, the producers initially wanted the director of the original, Nelson, to direct the Hindi remake too. Good Luck Jerry was offered to Nelson and although he wanted to helm it, his dates clashed with that of Vijay’s Beast.

It is said that Nelson ultimately let go of the opportunity of directing his first Hindi film in favour of Beast. However, Beast eventually did not recreate the success of his previous films and received mixed reviews.

Meanwhile, Good Luck Jerry is scheduled to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on July 29. On the other hand, Nelson is now busy with Rajnikanth’s 169th film, Jailer. t is rumoured that Nelson is also planning to create his own universe just like Lokesh Kanagaraj. But we will have to wait for the official confirmation from the team.
