Recalling the incident, Neil said, “I traveled to New York for a film shoot. At the airport, they stopped me and refused to believe that I was Indian, despite showing my Indian passport. They kept questioning me without letting me explain.”
“I was detained for nearly four hours. Finally, they asked, ‘What do you say now?’ I told them to search my name on Google. Once they realized their mistake, they started asking about my father and grandfather before finally letting me go.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh’s grandfather, Mukesh, was a famous playback singer in Hindi cinema, and his father, Nitin Mukesh, is also a singer.
