Many controversial films are doing rounds these days. Kumar Sanu's Utthan directed by Ujwal Chatterjee is based on the Jessica Lall's case.
Neha Dhupia is playing the role of Jessica in the movie. The film begins with news clips on victims like Jessica Lall, Shivani Bhatnagar, Nandini Singh and Madhumita Shukla.
In the film Jessica does not die instead she guns down a character similar to Manu Sharma which is played by Priyanshu Chatterjee.
A lot of research has been done by Ujwal's wife, Sagarika via newspapers. Neha Dhupia is called Kiran Talreja in the movie which also stars Akhilendra Mishra and Isha Puri.
