Neetu Chandra shoots for her next Tamil film

Having an immense passion for sports, Neetu is an avid sportsperson who ensures sports and wellness is always a part of her daily routine. Before she stepped into the world of modeling and film, she represented India at International Taekwondo Championships. She was also awarded the 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. In addition, Neetu has a great interest in Korfball and has represented India at the Korfball World Championship. She was presented a token of appreciation as marital artists by Jackie Chan in Hong Kong. Realizing the level of physical and mental balance that manifests through sport and martial arts, Neetu worked towards growing her sports portfolio to an even broader horizon. Neetu is passionate about basketball which has led her to be the face of NBA (National Basketball Association).

Neetu made her theatrical debut with the Hindi play Umrao' at the Prithvi theatre festival last year where she played the role of lead character Umrao Jaan. Her character acting skills were regarded as one of the most well appreciated performances in Indian Theatre. In October 2014, the play was showcased in Mumbai and Pune to support women with cancer as Neetu is the brand ambassador of the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) since the last 7 years. The actress is a true performer and a kathak dancer as well. The immensely talented actress has played diverse roles and worked with ace directors from the Bollywood film industry. Neetu made her Bollywood Debut with Akshay Kumar & John Abraham starrer Garam Masala. She was also seen giving breakthrough performances in films like Godavari, Traffic Signal, One Two Three, Summer 2007, OyeLucky! Lucky Oye! , Rann, Apartment, No Problem,Sadiyaan, Kucch Luv Jaisaa, and Aadhi Baghavan.

Neetu featured in Tamil and Telugu films as well namely Yuddham Sei, Settai, Theeradha Vilaiyattu among others. In addition she will be seen playing a vital role in the English - Greek film Block 12'which is slated to release by end of this year. The actress along with her brother heads the production house Champaran Talkies'which has produced the critically acclaimed Bhojpuri film DESWA'. The film was selected for the 43rd International Film Festival of India, South Asian Film Festival, Habitat World Film Festival, and International Film Festival of Fiji among others. Born in Patna, Bihar, Neetu studied at the Notre Dame Academy after which she did her honours in the specialised field of Political Science and graduated from Delhi University.
