The video below shows the making of Sonam Kapoor`s upcoming film Neerja`, that is a biopic on Neerja Bhanot. The movie Neerja` revolves around a 23-year-old girl who was killed in the 1986 hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi. She died while shielding a group of children from gunfire and became the youngest ever recipient of the Ashok Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award.

In the video you can see, Sonam explaining what went into the biopic, she also tweeted saying "I'm honoured to have played #Neerja. Truly inspired by her life. A peek into my journey." In the video, Sonam feels a little more responsible towards the film as it is based on a real person. She shares her experience about an emotional moment when Neerja's mother Rama Bhanot said Sonam reminded her of her late daughter - but that the real Neerja was 'prettier.' Sonam also adds to say that, "They did not care whether their daughter was a hero or not. They just wanted her to be alive. I just couldn't have let her family down. So, I needed to be very true to the character."

Actress Shabana Azmi will be essaying the role of Rama Bhanot and composer-actor Shekhar Ravjiani will be doing a cameo in the movie. The movie Neerja` is directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by Atul Kasbekar. Neerja will release on February 19.
