Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, who is known for helming films like 'Special 26', 'MS Dhoni', and 'A Wednesday', recently opened up about his upcoming production venture 'Vikram Vedha'. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan in the lead, the film is a remake of a Tamil blockbuster of same name which was inspired by the folktales of Vikram and Betaal.
According to a latest report in The Indian Express, Neeraj said, “‘Vikram Vedha’ is a fantastic script, based on the mythology of Vikram and Betal. The film is a contemporary take. We were surprised how come a North Indian film has not taken it up. It is on floors and we are in the process of getting it completed in terms of shoot.”
Apart from this, Neeraj's another production venture 'Operation Romeo' is also a remake of a South Indian blockbuster. Talking about why he produces remakes instead of directing them, Neeraj stated, “I am not into directing remakes. I am keener on writing stuff myself and thinking what the journey will be and going on that route. I am not comfortable as a maker but I have total respect for others who look at the material objectively."
