In an Instagram post, James posted, saying, "Welcome brother!!! Always good to see and be in the presence of GREATNESS!!! @leomessi 🙏🏾✊🏾🤎👑 #ComingToAmerica."

In response, Messi thanked James and replied saying, "Thanks a lot brother!!! It was really nice to see you! 🤝😃" his own Instagram Story.

During the debut game, Messi's talent shone as he scored a sensational 94th-minute free-kick, securing a 2-1 victory for Inter Miami against Cruz Azul from Mexico City, according to Yahoo Sports. The thrilling moment was witnessed not only by soccer fans but also by prominent figures like Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams, David Beckham, and his wife, Victoria Beckham, who co-owns Inter Miami.

Inter Miami's victorious match marked their participation in the Leagues Cup, a month-long competition between Major League Soccer and Liga MX sides. On July 25, Messi and Inter Miami are scheduled to face Atlanta United in their next game.

Messi's decision to join Inter Miami followed his triumph in leading Argentina to its third World Cup in January.
