The statue of Athivaradhar that is housed in a pond in Kancheepuram is retrieved once in every forty years and this year the diety graced devotees from July 1st and will go back to his permanent abode on August 17th. During these past few days several celebrities including Rajini, Trisha and Archana Kalpathi visited the temple town and sought blessings.

On the midnight of August 15th, Kollywood's favorite celebrity couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan visited the temple and received blessings. Though the couple has been globetrotting together for the past several years and has also visited many holy sites this one is quite significant with rumors going around that they are likely to tie the knot this year-end.

Nayanthara is starring in several biggies such as Chiranjeevi's 'Sai Raa', Vijay's 'Bigil' and Rajini's 'Darbar'. Vignesh Shivan is gearing up to direct Sivakarthikeyan's new movie produced by Lyca Productions.
