Nayanthara roped in for Netflix’s ‘Baahubali’ series: Reports

‘Baahubali’, the universally-acclaimed feature film franchise, will now have a prequel. Titled ‘Baahubali: Before The Beginning’, the web show is commissioned by Netflix.

The news is that Nayanthara is on board for the major OTT project. Ark Media is producing it. The mega-budgeted OTT show will go on the floors in September this year. 

There are rumours that Wamiqa Gabbi will be playing the character of Rajamatha Sivakami in her younger days. This will be a large-scale project. 

‘Baahubali: Before The Beginning’ was shot a couple of years ago and directors Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta were associated with it. Rajamouli too supervised it at the pre-production level. The project has been shelved by Netflix for creative reasons. 

Nayanthara was recently in the news when rumours did the rounds that she will be romancing Shah Rukh Khan in director Atlee’s Bollywood debut. But it’s not a confirmed piece of news. She is currently working on ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ (Tamil), which co-stars Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni as well. It’s directed by her boyfriend Vignesh Shivan.
