In 2016, Lady Superstar Nayanthara had starred in the Malayalam movie Puthiya Niyamam directed by AK Sajan and co-starring Megastar Mammootty as her husband, and the movie which had a socially alarming theme, was a commercially and critically acclaimed venture at the box office.

The movie also won Nayanthara the best actress Filmfare award for her performance as a married woman who is sexually abused and goes on a revenge spree to kill her abusers. The film was dubbed and released in Tamil as Vasuki.Now, the movie is all set to be remade in Bollywood by a renowned director.

Director Neeraj Pandey, who had last directed Aiyaary, and is known for his hit movies like Baby, A Wednesday, Special Chabbis and MS Dhoni The Untold story will be directing the remake of Puthiya Niyamam in Hindi, and the announcement on the cast and crew will be made soon.
