Nayanthara is busy acting as the heroine in several big-ticket films such as Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar', Thalapathy Vijay's 'Bigil', Chranjeevi's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' and others. The release of her next woman-centric film 'Kolaiyuthir Kaalam' directed by Chakri Toletti was banned by the court due to a case filed by director Balaji Kumar who claimed that he had paid rupees ten lakhs to the late writer Sujatha's wife for the rights to film the novel of the same name.
Mathiyazhagan the producer of 'Kolaiyuthir Kaalam' had filed a counter petition stating that there was no copyright for the title with the late Sujatha and requested to lift the ban. The court found that Balaji Kumar could not claim the title due to lack of copyright and has hence lifted the ban on the Nayanthara movie. A new release date will be announced soon,
