Mahabharatha is one of the two Indian Epics and it is a treasure trove of stories and messages for human life. Indian film industry has finally woken up to this fact and they have started directly embracing Mahabharatha to make films.
A pan-India film 'The Mahabharatha' at Rs.1000 crore budget will be made and it is based on the novel 'Rendamoozham' written by M.T.Vasudevan Nair based on the epic. The film will star Mohanlal in the lead role but it will be made in multiple Indian languages.
Now we learn that a Kannada film is also being made on Mahabharatha and it has been titled as 'Kurukshethra'. Stalwarts of the Kannada film industry are part of this project. Dharshan is acting as Duryodhana while Ravichandran is playign Karna and senior actor Ambareesh will be seen as Bhishma. The film will be directed by naganna
Sources reveal that the team is in talks with South Indian lady superstar Nayanthara to play the character of Draupadi who is also named as Panjali. The makers have confirmed that the talks are on by the actress is yet to give her nod for the project. Nayan has already acted in Kannada film 'Super' and popular among Kannadiga fans. We have to wait for some more time to know whether the 'Maaya' actress takes up this offer to be a part of a epic film.
It is worth noting that Nayan has earlier acted as Seetha in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual film 'Sri Rama Rajyam' based on another great Indian epic Ramayana
