As pro-Jallikattu demonstrations resonate across Tamil Nadu, stars, big and small, have been speaking up in support of the ancient bull-hugging sport. The likes of Vijay, Suriya, Karthi and Simbu have released separate videos/notes making their pro-Jallikattu stance clear, besides actively advocating the cause of the cultural sport by espousing solidarity with the common folks.

The latest one to come out in support of the much-debated tradition is the Lady Superstar Nayanthara. In a statement, she has said that she sees herself as a Tamilian by by emotion and pride. "This State has given me stature and pride, and at this point of emotional juncture, I stand one among them to raise my voice against foreign bodies, and also against those agencies which are ill-informed about the whole idea behind Jallikattu. The emotional enthusiasm displayed by the supporters will go a long way in showing the rich culture of Tamil Nadu," she has said in the statement.

Nayanthara's emotional support is drawing applause from the Tamils.
