Nayanthara enjoys a unique position in South Indian cinema for her box office might to draw audiences to the theaters on par with top heroes. She is hailed as the Lady Superstar and has many films under her kitty including 'Mookuthi Amman', Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Annaathe' and her beau Vignesh Shivan's 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal' costarring Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha.
Meanwhile, top Telugu hero Nitin is acting in the Telugu remake of 'Andhadhun' and it is said that the team approached Nayanthara to play the villainous character played by Tabu in the original. Sources say that Nayan demanded a salary which was more than the remuneration of the hero and the team was taken aback.
It is said that the Telugu 'Andhadhun' team is still keen to get Nayanthara on board as they feel she could do justice to the difficult character and negotiations are said to be still on.
The Tamil remake of 'Andhadhun' is to be directed by Mohan Raja and will star Prashanth in the lead role played by Ayushman Khuranna in the original with Ramya Krishnan in place of Tabu. Shooting is expected to begin as soon as the lockdown ends.
