It was on December 15 that Superstar Rajnikanth had resumed shooting for his upcoming movie Annaatthe directed by Siva in Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City. The film also stars Nayanthara, Meena, Khushbu, Keerthy Suresh and Prakash Raj.

Besides Rajnikanth, Naynathara, Kushboo and Meena have also reached the shooting spot and the team is shooting in full swing considering Rajinikanth's political commitments after his party announcement coming on December 31.

Annaatthe had initially started shooting before the pandemic, but after lockdown was on hold for eight months. Besides govt protocols the team is taking extra measures for corona prevention, and have a strict bio-bubble protocol to prevent infection due to which actors can't go out of the facility and no outsiders are allowed to enter the location. Now, Nayanthara’s boyfriend director Vignesh Shivan is shooting in Hyderabad as well for Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal with Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha. However despite being in the same city, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are unable to meet each other due to bio bubble which has reportedly saddened the couple.
