Intense Cat and Mouse game - Nayanthara's 'Imaikka Nodigal' trailer review

The serial killer genre is quite rare in Tamil cinema and a female oriented one has never been made as far as memory goes. Cameo Films and Ajay Gnanamuthu have joined hands with Lady Superstar Nayanthara to usher in the genre and the just released trailer cuts focus on the killer who murders because he loves it. Maverick Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap makes his Tamil debut as actor and his very presence is eerie.
Ofcourse the power behind 'Imaikka Nodigal' is Nayanthara and her towering screen presence raises the expectations for her cop Anjali, one who is as obsessed as her adversary. The scene stealer could well be Atharvaa who obviously has romance, action, emotion and a twist of character in the film. Will the Vijay Sethupathi cameo be a value addition or work negatively remains to be seen in the film. (He is made to repeat his 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' line "Are you Okay Baby" which is jarring and may distract from the intensity)
The background score of Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi, the crisp cuts of Buvan Srinivasan and the clean as a whistle imagery of R.D. Rajasekhar are already alluring. A two and a half minute trailer that succeeds in penetrating the brains of the viewer and files itself in the must watch list.
