We already brought to you that Lady Superstar Nayanthara's latest film 'Annapoorani' faced severe backlash from Hindu activists after its OTT release for hurting religious sentiments. This issue ended up in legal trouble for the movie as a former Shiv Sena party member from Mumbai filed a case against the makers.
'Annapoorani' is Lady Superstar Nayanthara's 75th film. The film was censored, had a theatrical release and came to Netflix recently. The story is about a Brahmin girl, who aspires to be a chef, crossing struggles and achieving her dreams. The movie shows the Brahmin girl cooking and eating meat. Also, Jai says Lord Ram was a meat eater in a scene.
Nayanthara (Brahmin girl) also does an Islamic prayer in a scene. These were the reasons for the film to face backlash and legal trouble. Now, the hot news is that the production house Zee Studios issued an apology statement saying that they intended to hurt the religious sentiments. Also, the movie is removed from Netflix now. It will be available again after chopping out the controversial scenes.
