Phenomenal actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui rose to fame after his brilliant performance as Faisal Khan in the film 'Gangs Of Wasseypur'. However, it was his role as Ganesh Gaitonde in the Netflix show 'Sacred Games' which truly made him a star who can carry projets on his own. So it came as a shock to his fans when Nawaz anmouced on Friday that he's going to quit working for OTT platforms.

It is safe to say that OTTs have helped Nawaz greatly in building his career but lately, he has been taking about how problematic it has become. About five years back, OTTs were an infant industry and they were offering unique and experimental content which Bollywood never tried to produce. It also gave opportunity to skilled and underrated actors to showcase their acting chops.

However, lately the digital entertainment business has changed a lot. It is getting hijacked by huge production houses which churn out large number of subpar shows and movies which have no artistic or cinematic value. It is obvious that an artist of Nawaz's caliber is disgusted by these changes. He believes that quantity has taken over quality in these shows and finds them unwatchable. He told Bollywood Hungama, "When I can’t bear to watch them how can I bear to be in them?”
