Popular Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a part of the team representing India at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The actor recently made an appearance at the red carpet event of the festival and he's all set to celebrate his birthday (19th of May) here as well. However, this isn't the first rodeo for Nawaz as he has visited Cannes Film Festival for about 8 times in the past.
In a recent media interaction, Nawaz talked about representing the country at a stage of global prominence. He told Hindustan Times, “Representing India is always special. Be it on my birthday or any other day. I have spent five-six of my birthdays at Cannes as it’s been held around the same time every year. I am not a person who celebrates birthdays as such. It’s just like a normal day.”
Nawaz further talked about how Cannes Film Festival focuses purely on the art of cinema. He stated, "I had never thought that I will go to Cannes one day when I had started off. It’s the Mecca of cinema, vahan chaaron taraf ache cinema ki baat hoti hai, box office collection ki baat nahi hoti. Hum jo collection ki baatein kar kar ke cinema dekh rahe hain na aaj kal? Vahaan uski baat nahi hoti.”
