Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who was last seen in Rajini's Petta, has refrained from making any statements regarding the #MeToo movement, and also the controversy surrounding famous director Rajkumar Hirani, like many others have in the industry.

On being asked about his thoughts on the alleged complaint against the filmmaker, Nawazuddin stated that he was afraid of controversies, and hence didn't want to comment on the issue. He further added that personal and trivial controversies shifted the focus from an actor's work.

“I just don't want to talk about it. Why unnecessarily create it all again? For me, my career is important. After so many years of struggle, I am getting to work, so I want to focus on it. I want to try and stay away from all this. Now whether I get affected or not, that is a personal thing,” the actor said in a recent statement.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui had previously landed himself in one such controversy when former Miss India and his ex-girlfriend Niharika Singh accused the actor of sexual harassment post their break-up.
