Since last couple years, Hindi entertainment industry has been observing a mania of large scale South Indian blockbusters. Fans have poured tremendous love on films like 'RRR', 'Pushpa' and 'KGF: Chapter 2' and their Hindi versions have outperformed mainstream Bollywood projects in both critical and commercial aspects.
While many Bollywood stars believe that this rise of Southern cinema is beginning of a change, Nawazuddin Siddiqui thinks that it is nothing more than a phase. In a recent media interaction, he even stated that he avoids watching commercial films like 'RRR' and 'Pushpa'.
During a recent conversation with India Today, Nawaz was asked to share his opinion on success of recent Telugu and Kannada blockbusters. To this he replied, "Frankly, I haven't seen any of the South films. But not only South, I don't watch commercial films. It's also because I am quite busy. Hence, I hardly get any time to watch films. So I can't actually comment on the success.”
