The pre-release function of 'Nawab' was held on Tuesday in Hyderabad. Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and others associated with the film graced the occasion. The film is arriving in theatres on Sept 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Mani Ratnam said, "This film is a teamwork entirely. We all worked really hard. The songs have been penned by Seetharama Sastry garu and Rakhi. I thank Rahman for the tunes. My story demanded the artists and stars. That's why I have worked with them."
AR Rahman said, "It's very pleasant to listen to people speak in Telugu. As much as you hear the language, you want to hear more. Mani Ratnam garu is like my guru. Working with him never seems like a task. Whenever we sit together to work on a tune, we forget the time. I had to mix two songs in two days recently. I went to the US thereafter, and I set up equipment in a room and worked on the background score. Mani sir always trusts me but I videographed myself and sent the proof to him that I am working on BGM. When I was doing BGM, I felt that I should go in for one more song. I called up the director and expressed my wish."
Aravind Swamy said, "The Telugu people have loved me as Rishi in 'Roja' and as Siddharth Abhimanyu in 'Dhruva'. I hope they will love me as Varada in 'Nawab'. I started my journey with Mani sir. When I was staying away from movies, it's he who brought me back. We have journeyed together for 28 years. I have been associated with him for 8 movies. 'Nawab' is a special movie to me. For that matter, every film with Mani sir is special."
Arun Vijay said, "It's everybody's dream to act in Mani sir's direction. Such a dream came true for me with 'Nawab'. I am very happy to have worked with Aravind Swamy sir and others. Rahman sir's music has been received well. I will be seen as Thyagu in the movie. This character will be a milestone in my career."
Aishwarya Rajesh said, "I am a Telugu girl who has been settled in Chennai. It was always my dream to work in a Mani sir movie. I was scared in the beginning. I have done 20 movies in Tamil. But working with Mani sir has been the most comfortable journey. Should one act well, he uses the artist like a laddoo. Even a child can understand the way he teaches acting."
Producer Ashok Vallabhaneni said, "I have been a fan of Mani sir since the age of 15 or so. There was a time when I was feeling privileged to meet him. Today, I am presenting the Telugu version of his movie. I must have watched 'Nayakudu' something like 30 times. I was scared that I might become a smuggler under its influence. Upon watching 'Donga Donga', I felt like turning a thief myself. I am very happy that the music director of this movie is Rahman sir. I am releasing 'Nawab' in the two Telugu states with a lot of confidence."
Jeevitha said, "I know Ashok Vallabhaneni so well. He had been waiting to release a dubbed movie for long. I am very happy that he has realized his wish with this movie. I am going to watch this FDFS."
Chandra Siddhartha said, "I am happy for producer Ashok garu. Rahman garu's music has fans across the world. I have always wanted to click a selfie with hm."
