Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kerala on Monday evening for a two-day visit, during which he held the 'Yuvam 2023' event in Kochi. Many celebrities, including Unni Mukundan, Navya Nair, and Aparna Balamurali, participated in the event, which was aimed at inspiring the youth of the state.
However, after pictures of the event went viral on social media, Navya Nair came under heavy criticism from certain sections. Some netizens accused her participating in the event for money like other actors, while others spread rumors that Navya had shifted her political allegiance to the left.
Responding to the criticism, Navya Nair took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of herself with the Prime Minister, captioning it "Privileged to have shared this stage with The Honourable Prime Minister of India." Her post was widely shared and appreciated by her fans and well-wishers.
The Yuvam conclave was attended by a range of notable personalities. These included Anil K Antony, the son of Congress leader AK Antony, who has recently joined the BJP. The stage also featured several other BJP leaders, including Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya, Kerala BJP chief K Surendran, Minister of State V Muraleedharan, Prakash Javadekar, and Suresh Gopi. In addition to these political figures, a number of Malayalam film industry figures were also present, including singers KS Harishankar and Vijay Yesudas, as well as actors Navya Nair, Unni Mukundan, and Aparna Balamurali. During the event, Navya Nair touched the PM's feet to seek his blessings.
