'Navarasa', which is about nine stories and nine emotions (anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder), has got a trailer of its own. While the stories are many, the journey is just one - and it's an incredible one.
Created by Mani Ratnam, the anthology has been directed by Priyadarshan, Vasanth, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthik Subbaraj, Sarjun KM, Karthick Naren, Arvind Swami, and Rathindran R. Prasad.
To be streamed on Netflix from August 6, the anthology has been billed as a cinematic marvel and a landmark moment of cultural pride for the Tamil entertainment industry. Releasing its trailer, the makers of the one-of-a-kind project said that several leading icons of the industry graciously offered their services for free in order to contribute the proceeds from the anthology towards the well-being of film workers in Tamil cinema.
Also featuring Suriya (doing typical Gautham Menon's hero things), Nithya Menen, Arvind Swami, Anjali (as a pregnant lady), Atharvaa Murali, Prasanna, Aishwarya Rajesh, Prakash Raj (in an emotional role), Yogi Babu, yesteryear actress Revathi (in an intense, teary role), Mollywood actress Parvathy Thiruvothu, Ramya Nambessan, Ashok Selvan, Ammu Abhirami (of the recent 'Narappa' fame), and others, the show has cinematography by acclaimed names such as PC Sreeram, Santosh Sivan, and Manoj Paramahamsa. The music is by Govind Vasantha.
