Producer Natti Kumar on Wednesday afternoon held a press meet to raise a few issues. He opined that the Telugu film industry should come forward to fight for special status to Andhra Pradesh. "There is no film industry without the patronage of five crore Andhra people. If not for them, we wouldn't survive and thrive.
Tollywood should announce a one-day strike in pursuance of the demand. All shootings should be cancelled for that one day. The entire industry should rise above political and personal differences for this cause," Natti Kumar opined.
Importantly, Natti Kumar found fault with the six industry people who recently met with Chandrababu Naidu to extend support to the AP government. "They have only their personal benefits in mind," Natti alleged.
"How did they go and announce support on behalf of the Telugu industry? What favours are they seeking from the government?" he questioned.
"They didn't go to either YSRCRP or Pawan Kalyan garu or the Communist parties. They haven't taken the film industry along. There is a need for them to rally the industry on a single platform in a week's time. Otherwise, I myself will work towards that to the best of my ability," Natti said.
"Recently, MAA held an emergency meet when they wanted to boycott an actress (Sri Reddy). Is the special status issue less important than this?" he asked.
Natti also opined that it's feudalistic thinking to banish someone from the industry altogether.
