National Film Awards 2016: Maheshinte Prathikaaram wins 2 awards

This year's National Film Awards are back and the winners have just been announced are being announced. Marathi film Kaasav wins the best film award. Akshay Kumar wins the best actor award for the movie Rustom and Surabhi Lakshmi wins the best actress award for the Mollywood movie Minnaminungu. Dileesh Pothen's Maheshinte Prathikaaram won two awards - Best Malayalam film award and Best screenplay award. Filmmaker Priyadarshan was the chairperson of the jury in feature films category, while nationally acclaimed cinematographer and a writer Raju Misra was the chairperson in non-feature category.

Here's the list of winners from Malayalam:

Best actress - Surabhi ( Minnaminungu)

Special Jury Award - Mohanlal ( Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Pulimurugan and Telugu films)

Best Child Actor - Adish Praveen ( Kunju Daivam)

Best screenplay writer -Shyam Pushkaran ( Maheshinte Prathikaram)

Best Malayalam film - Maheshinte Prathikaram

Best audiography - Jayadevan (Kaadu Pookkunna Neram) Best action choreographer - Peter Hein (Pulimurugan)
