The Tamil-language social satire 'Joker' winning the National Award in Best Tamil Film category (equivalent of what 'Pelli Choopulu' has won) has given a morale booster to its makers. So much so, producer SR Prabhu has announced its remakes in other languages.
While 'Joker' starred Guru Somasundaram, it has to be seen how such a realistic satire can be replicated in other languages with wholly new cast. "I am happy that our film has got this recognition. I would have been even more happier had our male lead too won the Award," Prabhu has been quoted as saying.
Guru has been likened to the talented Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Apart from the Best Tamil Film award, 'Joker' also won a National Award for its singer Sundar Ayyar, who rendered a song title 'Jasmine-u'.
