Actress Keerthy Suresh has won the national award for her performance in the Telugu movie Mahanati, and she was presented the award by the vice president of India Venkaiah Naidu on Monday, at the 66th National Awards presentation ceremony held in Delhi.
Mahanati was the biopic of legendary actress Savithri, and Keerthy Suresh had received great reviews for her performance in the movie directed by Nag Ashwin, which traced the life of the actress from her entry into films till death. The movie also won national awards for Best Telugu film and costume design.
As social media is filled with congratulatory messages and posts celebrating Keerthy, the actress has penned an emotional note on Instagram to thank everyone involved. Her message reads "I can’t possibly put my feelings into words but I’m going to try . This was not just a dream but a goal that kept me going . Thanks to each and everyone who have been a part of this unforgettable journey. I dedicate this to My mother, an actor who was the driving force for me to become one , my uncle Mr.Govind who pushed me to commit to Mahanati when I was skeptical to accept the offer.
