Naga Babu on Tuesday glorified Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi. It's Godse's birthday today (May 19).

Taking to Twitter, the younger brother of Chiranjeevi and elder brother of Pawan Kalyan said, "Today is Godse's birthday. He was a real patriot. It's debatable whether killing Gandhi was right or wrong. But Godse's argument was not highlighted by the media during his time. The media was at the beck and call of the ruling party. That's the situation even today."

Naga Babu further said that Godse went ahead with his plan to assassinate Gandhi even though he knew that his act would bring him notoriety. "We can't doubt his intentions, because he was a real patriot. I felt like remembering him today on his birthday. Poor Godse. May his soul rest in peace," Naga Babu wrote on Twitter.

He later shared a video giving a Telugu translation of Godse's statement in the court.
